libavahi-glib-dev software package provides Development headers for the Avahi GLib integration library, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libavahi-glib-dev
libavahi-glib-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libavahi-glib-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libavahi-glib-dev *
You will get with libavahi-glib-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
